e-MID has been offering multilateral trading since 1990. It was the first electronic market for interbank deposits and Overnight Indexed Swaps. It is the reference marketplace to trade liquidity in Europe.

The market was established as “MID – Mercato Interbancario dei Depositi” in 1990 as the result of the joint initiative of the Bank of Italy and the Italian banking community. They aimed at making the circulation of liquidity more efficient.
